About Rich

Rich Pennington graduated with a B.S. in Management from George Mason Universtiy in 1987.  He then attended Regent University and completed his Advanced Certificate in Practical Theology in 1995 while completing coursework for a M.A. in Practical Theology.  He was born June 11, 1966 in Washington DC. 

Rich is the founding pastor of Horizons Church and has served in ministry since the age of 16 in various capacities.  He was a Children’s Pastor, Youth Pastor, and Associate Pastor and founded Horizons in February, 1995.  Rich is also co-owner of Covenant Mortgage and thus serves as a volunteer in his role as senior pastor here at Horizons as all of his income is provided by his company. Rich has a background in business in for profit and non-profit sectors as well as an extensive background in church and para-church organizations as well as sitting upon a National Advisory Council in the business world.
