What to Expect
First Visit?: If you're planning a visit to Horizons, please know that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. We know it can be rather daunting to visit a new church, and so at Horizons, we'll do our best to prepare you for what to expect in your visit. First, you'll be greeted at the door by members of our greeting ministry who would be thrilled to answer general questions about our church and to provide you with directions to various areas of the building. They will also provide you with a weekly bulletin that highlights events of the day as well as future events. Information Center: A staffed information center is located just outside the auditorium. Sign-up rosters for special events, sermon cd order forms, prayer request forms, and additional information about our church are available here. Hospitality Tables: There are donuts, bagels, juice, coffee, etc. available between services. Service Times: Sunday Morning Services are at 9am and 11am at 12 Flatford Rd (Directions). Nursery: Parents are welcome to bring their infants and toddlers into the sanctuary; however, we encourage you to take advantage of our supervised nursery for ages birth up to 3. Preschool: The Preschool Class (ages 3 – Kindergarten) begins at 9 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Kids Church: Children in 1st – 6th grades remain in the sanctuary until Praise & Worship is over. Once they are dismissed, they are welcome to be a part of our Kids Church which meets in Fellowship Hall/Gymnasium, across from the sanctuary. Student Ministry: Our youth (6th-12th grade) worship with the adults in the main sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Sunday night, our middle school (grades 6-8) and Sr. High (grades 9-12) H2O Youth Group is held from 6 - 8 p.m. Ushers: As you enter the auditorium, ushers are available to assist you should you have any questions or special needs regarding seating or other general questions. Should special needs arise during the service, feel free to go to an ushers to request assistance. A Note About Offering: As a first-time visitor to Horizons, you are our guest. We don't expect you to contribute in the offering. Feel free to sit back and relax as the offering plate is passed. Greeting our Guests: During each service, we welcome our first time guests and ask that they identify themselves by raising their hand. We won't put you on the spot or call you to the front. We will provide you with a guest packet and we just ask that you fill out and turn in our guest card to help us keep record of your visit with us. Guest Reception: If you are interested in finding out more about Horizons Church and meeting our pastors and other leaders, you’re invited to a Guest Reception immediately following the service in the hallway outside of the auditorium as you exit. We have a gift we would like to present to you, and we look forward to answering any questions you may have.
